PrimeCare's Version Nine System Introduces a
New Laboratory Interface System
Newport News, VA - February 17, 2009 - PrimeCare Systems, Inc., (OTCBB:PCYS)
announced today that its PrimeCare Patient Management system, Version
Nine (the Version Nine System), has introduced a laboratory interface
system specifically designed to expedite the availability of laboratory
test results to participating hospitals and physicians in Argentina.
The laboratory interface consists of three distinct modules: the
On-Site Application (OSA), the Data Screening Application (DSA) and
the Data Conversion Application (DCA). The OSA is located at the hospital's
laboratory facility, where it automatically captures, formats, and
transmits raw laboratory results to PrimeCare's secure processing
facility. Within PrimeCare's own facility, the DSA and DCA programs
work in tandem to restructure the data and merge it into patient charts.
Prior to the introduction of this laboratory interface, up to a week
was required to process and return the results of laboratory tests
to physicians or place the results in patients' hospital files.
Results of laboratory tests are now available within twelve to twenty-four
hours resulting in a new optimization of resources in patient care.
This incorporation of laboratory test results into the electronic
record provides instant physician access to their patients' laboratory
results, regardless of the physical location of the patients' paper
chart. In addition, physicians now have the ability to view chronological
patient lab results graphically, allowing an easily interpreted time-phased
view of the data, with automatic flagging of potentially abnormal
results.
PrimeCare's On-Site Application is available to hospitals running
the Version Nine System and enables automatic capture of test results
while the indirect interface modules integrate laboratory data into
PrimeCare's secure patient database to streamline the delivery of
test results without changing the client hospital's established methods
of operation or impacting on delivery of laboratory services.
