New Rochelle N.Y. October 29, 2004OCG Technology, Inc.
(OTCBB:OCGT) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary PrimeCare
Systems, Inc. (PSI), has developed a new healthcare insurance
product called PrimeCare
Online (PCO). PCO enables health insurers to reduce
the cost of primary care insurance for enrollees and introduce a new
cost-effective product to millions of uninsured Americans. PCO utilizes
PrimeCare Patient Management System Version Nine (PrimeCare).
PCO complements insurers' traditional HMO, PPO, POS plans.
PCO includes an innovative set of primary care services. Insurers
can utilize a medical services desk (Triage Desk) staffed
by physicians, physician assistants, and registered nurses. The Triage
Desk is available 24/7 to serve the PCO enrollees.
At the time of enrollment an annual exam and complete Health Assessment
questionnaire is completed by each patient and stored in their PrimeCare
medical record. When the PCO enrollee has a heath concern, they
contact the Triage Desk and explain their problem, i.e. sore throat,
abdominal pain, etc. The medical staff member asks some pertinent
questions and then arranges for the member to complete one or more
of PrimeCares 280 History of Present Illness questionnaires
(HPI). The patient then completes the assigned HPI by
logging onto the PrimeCares secure internet access or
via telephone. The medical staff member determines and advises the
patient of the proper medical steps to complete their online visit
and stores the encounter in the patients PrimeCare record. All
information is secure and compliant with HIPAA guidelines for electronic
medical records.
Marriott Winchester, Senior Vice President of PSI said, We
are working with health insurers to create new and innovative services
that encourage patients to use PCO. It is anticipated that through
the use of PCO unnecessary office visits can be reduced by at least
25-35%, thus saving the health system millions of dollars. When the
70% to 80% of the PCO patients that do need to see a doctor, they
are properly pre-screened and where appropriate sent for medical tests
before they are seen by a health plan physician. This saves both,
time and money, and allows physicians to spend more time with the
patients that need to be seen.
We are working with several major insurers to initiate pilot programs.
The prospect to enable health insurers to provide an improved new
health care service that increases access to healthcare and reduces
cost is a revolution in the health care industry. We look forward
to working with the leading insurers within the United States and
national health systems outside the US.
